El Gordo Result

While not the first name that comes to mind globally, "El Gordo," or "the fat one," is Spain's premier lottery, renowned for its massive prize pool. Originally a nickname for the top prize, it now represents the entire Christmas Lottery experience.

Drawn every December 22nd at Madrid's Teatro Real and broadcast live at 9:00 am CET, El Gordo is a special draw within the Lotteria National, spreading Christmas cheer across Spain. It's managed by Loterías y Apuestas del Estado.

The Christmas Lottery boasts substantial prizes: $4 million for the winner, $1.25 million for second place, $500,000 for third, $200,000 for each of two fourth-place tickets, and $60,000 for each of eight fifth-place tickets.
